Typically the first Tuesday of the Month at 7pm. Check the Utah Public Notice Website for changes in that schedule.

How can I find out what will be discussed at a Town Council Meeting?
Agendas will be posted at the town hall and on the Utah Public Notice Website.

How can I find out what was discussed at a previous Town Council Meeting?
Once the minutes have been approved (typically at the next Town Council Meeting) they will be posted on the Utah Public Notice Website.

How can I get on the agenda for a Town Council Meeting?
Contact the Town Clerk at least 1 week in advanced of the meeting with your request. 435-563-9929

When are Planning & Zoning Committee Meetings?
Typically the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7 pm. Agendas & Minutes are handled in the same way as the regular Town Council Meetings, via the Utah Public Notice Website.

Do I need a business license? Yes.  All businesses operating from Trenton (including online businesses) need a business license.  The cost is $15 annually.  An application is available here and should be submitted with payment to the town clerk.

Can I build a shed in my backyard without a permit?
All outbuildings must comply with building setbacks:  minimum of 24 feet total from the property edges, with no setback less than 10 feet.
If your building is less than 200 square feet and has no utilities/no electricity then you do not need a zoning clearance aka permit.

Can I change my driveway? Make it a circular driveway? Add cement? Add asphalt?
All changes to driveways & yards that are in the right of way for the roads owned by Trenton require an encroachment permit. The requirements are spelled out on that permit.
All changes to driveways and yards NOT on roads owned by Trenton are at the discretion of the Utah Department of Transportation.

Can I rent out my basement (or any part of my house that I live in) to a non-family member?
